Getting Mashed Up With The Twitter Experience

Twitterlights is an innovative feature of i-Lighter that saves and posts i-Lighted content to a twitter account with just a click of the mouse. I especially like how the feature simplifies the process of sharing content. I simply activate the i-Lighter bot on my toolbar, i-Light the content I want to save, post the tiny url to Twitterlights, and I'm done.

Ever since the two technologies teamed up to become one, The Light Stuff has reviewed other twitter mashups. New ones pop up on the landscape all the time. For fans of the micro-blogging platform, here are a few worth noting:

Cloudtag_3 Tweetstats: Employing color-coded graphics to analyze frequency of twitter usage, the application breaks down personal data into months, days, and time of day. Charts show when a twitter member has been most active and when they don't have much to tweet. It also generates a tweet cloud tag displaying frequently used words and phrases. Not a rival of Google Analytics by any means, but easy to implement and analyze.

Who Should I Follow makes recommendations for new twitter friends by crawling current follows and the people they follow. Just enter a twitter name and the mashup does the rest. I have a theory that the application crawls to the same top twenty people, those being the most popular twitter users, but the results can be adjusted for less or more popular, and/or farther or closer to one's physical location . When I entered my twitter name, lightstuff, the number one recommendation was New Media Jam, aka Jim Long. Who did it recommend for you?

TwitterNotes turns the twitter application into a note taking device. Tweet notes from anywhere to a twitter account and tag them for later retrieval. Messages and other information on the twitter timeline will not be affected, and TwitterNotes does not require a special login. Instructions on how to use the application are provided here. And like most of the other twitter-related applications, additional questions or problems can be referred to the twitter-powered community.

Are you a twitter user? Have you found any interesting or useful new twitter-powered applications?
